On 26–27 February 2024 the Education Ministry and Minister José Mauricio Pineda stated on official X that every use or trace of gender ideology had been removed from public-school materials. On 2 October 2025 Minister Karla Trigueros issued Memorándum 22-2025 prohibiting so-called inclusive language in public schools and MINEDUCYT offices; President Nayib Bukele backed that instruction on official X the same night.
