Ministerio de Salud Pública Resolución Ministerial 126/2008 creates a CENESEX-led Comisión Nacional and a Centro de atención a la salud integral de las personas transexuales as the only Sistema Nacional de Salud unit authorized for sex-reassignment treatments.
Resolución 126/2008 creates the only SNS unit authorized for total or partial sex-reassignment treatments. The resolution does not name puberty blockers or set an age for those treatments.

Ministerio de Educación Resolución 16 of 26 February 2021 approved a Programa de Educación Integral en Sexualidad con enfoque de género y derechos sexuales y reproductivos for the national school system. MINED later postponed applying that resolution until the necessary conditions are in place.
