UZ Gent’s official page says its sexology-and-gender centre sees children and young people from 9 through 16, explores gender questions, and decides any medical steps together. It says the centre will not take over medical care for a minor who has already started hormone treatment elsewhere; those minors enter the young-adult team from 17. KCE Study 2025-50, tasked under the federal coalition agreement, is reviewing the use of hormone blockers in teenagers with gender dysphoria in Belgium. Results are expected in June 2027. There is no nationwide statutory ban.
